Past, Present & Future
1988
The Beginning
John Gachina opens Gachina Landscape Management out of his garage in Cupertino. Business takes off after our first irrigation renovation.
1997
We Moved Into our Corporate Office
Established a corporate office in Menlo Park, CA. A central location that enabled us to better service our growing clientele.
2002
Surpass 100 Employees
Reached 100 employees and as a growing business, with an owner that was dedicated to education and training we also established the NALP Scholarship for green industry students.
2010
Opened East Bay Branch
We decided to venture into the East Bay and set up shop. Today, we have a satellite branch in Danville to further extend our service area.
2014
Implement PHC and Water Management Programs
A strategic move to set the direction in the green industry. At the time, these programs were exclusive to Gachina clients and further solidified Gachina as a leader.
2016
H. Jaclyn Ishimaru-Gachina Assumes Ownership
After her late husband’s passing from prostate cancer in 2015, Jackie took on the role of CEO and President.
2018
Establish our 5th Branch and Become a Certified Women-Owned & Minority Company
We opened the West Branch, located in San Jose, with a team exclusively dedicated to the maintenance of a large Silicon Valley Tech campus. This year, we also became certified with WBENC and WRMSDC.
2019
Jackie wins NALP Woman entrepreneur of the year award
The National Association of Landscape Professionals recognized Jackie as someone who has demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and initiative, ensured advancement of the landscape industry by actions and endeavors, and serves as a shining example to current and future female entrepreneurs.
2020
Growth & Expansion
Increased our workforce to 385 employees, surpassed our goal of $40 Million in revenue. Our operations management team gets Rescape certified.
2025
Awards & Excellence
Won 3 Silver Awards at the NALP Awards of Excellence and took home the CACM Vision Awards for Company Culture and Innovation

His legacy lives on through the dedication of his wife, Jackie who serves as CEO/President and their sons, Michael and Dominic who will lead us into the future.
