Two National Landscape Merit Awards for Environmental Excellence, NALP
Gachina Landscape Management is honored with two Merit National Awards for Excellence in Commercial Landscape Management at the 48th Annual Awards and Recognition Program sponsored by the National Association of Landscape Contractors (NALP). Each year, the NALP Awards of Excellence recognizes exceptional landscape, lawn care, and interior plantscape design projects from around the nation.
Oak Creek Apartments
Located along Sand Hill Road’s real estate row, tenants are tech professionals or staff affiliated with Stanford University/ Hospital. Annual color is detailed daily, acres of turf must be mowed uniformly, and plant material must be thriving – a challenge after two years of severe drought restrictions. Also challenging has been refreshing the landscape with modern, drought tolerant plant material through turf conversions, the installation of ‘smart’ WeatherTrak ET based controllers, and sustainable bay-friendly practices. Ongoing communication, meticulous planning, irrigation system checks, construction scheduling and maintenance progress reports all work towards a strong contractor / client partnership and a beautiful and healthy landscape.
Shelter Creek Apartments
Built in the early 1970’s, Shelter Creek COA is a thirty-five-acre property that stretches through the hills of San Bruno. The landscape and water features surround the buildings for over seventeen acres: ninety-five per cent of which is the original plant material. The property features beautiful tall trees that provide purified air and shade during the summer months. Regular walk-throughs, use of weather-based irrigation controllers, and an attentive and proactive water management strategy has allowed this landscape to thrive and look its best.
