Environmentally Safe Bay Area Fruit Reduction Services
Gachina Landscape Management uses environmentally safe fruit reduction methods to control fruit trees that are a nuisance and may represent tripping hazards to people and property.
Productive fruit trees are often a delight. In other instances, ornamental trees that produce fruits cause problems for owners and managers of commercial properties, HOAs, retail properties and estates.
Fruit that falls on pavement or the ground makes walking hazardous. Fruit can stain or damage vehicles, shoes, carpeting, and clothing. They can also attract pests like rats, wasps, yellow jackets, and squirrels.
Picking the fruit before it drops is unlikely – it’s costly, time-consuming, and overly laborious. Gachina’s fruit retardant services in the Bay Area are an ideal solution for clients who value environmentally sensitive landscape practices and also want to curb production of fruit without harming their trees.
We Offer Two Options for Fruit Growth Reduction
The Gachina team slows fruit production by applying a liquid agent to the trunk of a tree. The liquid is safe for the tree, soil, nearby plants, and humans. Timing is a factor. The best time for Gachina to take fruit retardant measures on your property is several weeks before your fruit trees bloom.
If trees are already in bloom, we can spray the canopy with another kind of flower growth regulator. This option is effective but less efficient because it may cause drift on non-targeted plant material and require covering the plant material at the base of the trees.
Additional factors the Gachina team takes into account to reduce fruit growth include weather conditions, tree species, and dosage appropriate to the size of the tree. We avoid spraying when it’s raining or when temperatures are chilly or exceptionally hot, or when too windy.
Talk to Us About Professional Fruit Growth Reduction Services
A program of professional fruit growth reduction typically reduces production by as much as 80 percent. However, reducing the output of some trees can be difficult and occasionally removing a tree may be necessary. In those cases, Gachina recommends ornamental trees that don’t bear fruit but are easily maintained and will enhance the appearance of your property.
Gachina Landscape Management provides fruit reduction services to commercial clients throughout the Bay Area, including the cities of San Jose, Walnut Creek, Palo Alto, Danville, and Oakland. Call 650-853-0400 today.
