IFMA SV & GROW Organization Honors John Gachina
Bob Kraiss presents JobTrain with a special gift in memory of John Gachina on behalf of IFMA Silicon Valley. In addition to the donation, Bob, the Director & Treasurer of The GROW Organization, also offered a $1,500 facilities internship to a qualified JobTrain student on behalf of The GROW Organization. The seed for JobTrain’s Organic Garden was first planted by our founder, the late John Gachina. John came up with the idea to start a garden growing organic produce and approached JobTrain. John donated the land, the expertise, and all the materials to make the garden happen. John started the Farm with goals of providing opportunities for JobTrain students to gain ‘farm to table’ skills and also provide fresh produce for Gachina Landscape Management employees. Furthermore, the Farm is used as a demonstration garden – a learning center for clients to be educated on sustainable practices and how they can bring gardens into their work and / or home environments.
Gachina’s staff is dedicated to the creation of sustainable landscaping and devoted to stewarding the earth – the Farm will accomplish this for years to come. Thank you IFMA Silicon Valley and The Grow Foundation for your donations in honor of John Gachina.
