H. Jaclyn Ishimaru-Gachina named NALP 2019 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year

The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) is proud to announce H. Jaclyn Ishimaru-Gachina as the 2019 NALP Woman Entrepreneur of the Year.  The award recognizes an NALP member who has demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and initiative, ensured advancement of the landscape industry by actions and endeavors, and serves as a shining example to current and future female entrepreneurs. This award was presented at NALP’s LANDSCAPES 2019 in Louisville, Kentucky mid October.

“Creating a work environment that promotes diversity, that couples “The Gachina Way” – Respect, Courtesy and Professionalism, has allowed women to thrive within our organization. It is very inspiring to see so many women at the National Collegiate Landscape Competition, who have chosen the Landscape Industry. “When interviewing female candidates, I am encouraged by their greater numbers.

Gachina Landscape Management

#mondaymotivation
On Saturday our Irrigation Team: Juan Perez, Elmer Pena, Pedro Leal, Herminio Deras, Walter Lima & Gerardo Martinez all volunteered their time to install a new irrigation system for a school garden at a Peninsula Family Connections School in Redwood City. Together with Each Green Corner (a non-profit that installs community and school gardens throughout Bay Area neighborhoods) they worked to install garden beds and drip irrigation.
The Gachina Team of irrigation techs helped install drip irrigation for 3 raised vegetable beds, new irrigation for existing beds as well as strawberry and herb tubes. The project was a huge success and we appreciate the dedication and commitment from our employees in giving back to our local communities. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who assisted with this project, the kids will be thrilled to enjoy this new garden area.
These acts of kindness are what make Gachina a special place to work!
