Gachina Receives Two National Landscape Grand Awards

Two coveted “Grand Awards” for landscape and environmental excellence at Rosewood Sand Hill and a private Los Altos Estate.

Menlo Park, CA – November 7, 2016 Gachina Landscape Management is proud to announce winning two Grand National Awards for Excellence in Commercial Landscape Management in the 47th Annual Awards and Recognition Celebration Awards Program sponsored by the National Association of Landscape Contractors (NALP). NALP’s Awards Program reflects the association’s commitment to creating and preserving the beauty of our landscape. The program is designed to reward independent landscape, lawn care, and interior plantscaping professionals who execute superior projects.

Rosewood Sand Hill Landscaping Awards Menlo Park Rosewood Sand Hill is a 5-star hotel beautifully situated in Menlo Park with stunning views of the Santa Cruz mountains. Rosewood has been designed and maintained using a combination of ornamental California native grasses and drought tolerant species, as well as more formal English garden style design spaces for weddings and events. There are many difficult challenges in maintaining the Rosewood including tough soil conditions, slopes and uneven landscape surfaces, not to mention rabbits, deer and gophers entering the site from surrounding open space.   Gachina has managed the landscape at this property since 2013 meeting extremely high quality expectations from the clients and guests.

Los Altos Hills private estate   This exquisite residence covers 8 acres of rolling hills in Los Altos. The award winning private landscaping award Los Altos Hillsproperty is enriched by sunny vineyards and native tree groves, such as California Peppers, Redwoods and Oaks. The attention to detail, accompanied by the necessity for privacy, makes this an extremely challenging, yet at the same time a rewarding account. In an attempt to preserve the sustainable nature of the estate, we perform fertilization and pest control by utilizing compost tea, mycorrhizae, traps, beneficial insects and parasites and other OMRI approved products. This can sometime delay the expected results but protects the well-being of the pollinators, birds and other wildlife on the estate. While implementing an organic program produces results that do not meet the traditional landscape maintenance standards but guarantees respect of the environment and Mother Earth. Gachina has managed this estate since 2013.
