Plant of the week 3.28 – 4.1 ~ Xylsoma

Xylosma 3.28 - 4.1Plant of the week 3.28 – 4.1 ~ Xylsoma ~ Xylsoma is an evergreen shrub with low water requirements which thrives in full sun to partial shade. Xylsoma is hard pruned in winter months to encourage new growth, maintain a manageable height, and reduce pruning requirements during the growing season. Its low water requirements get a thumbs up for water wise landscapes and earns a drought tolerant distinction. They have been popular in our landscapes for decades, make good hedges, and have a natural, free flowing growth habit which is great for our Bay Friendly natural pruning techniques. Xylosma will put on a quick spring growth and is a good candidate for PGR (plant growth regulator) to reduce labor hours and green waste requirements.

Check out this beautiful pergola and outdoor space at one of the estates we maintain in the Bay Area. Wishing we could spend the rest of 2020 lounging in the shade here...
